HiResidency with Sadie Murdoch

The HiRESIDENCY was undertaken as part of Sadie Murdoch’s research and development for a forthcoming artist book - working title Century Colour Swatch: Shades May Vary. A kind of ‘swatch book’, the planned publication will be a limited edition, and includes digitally printed textiles on different types of silk. 

“Shades may vary” refers to common manufacturer's advice as found on early swatch book samples, but also to the ‘ghostly’ and spectral nature of photography and the photographic negative.

The book is intended to play a contiguous role in relation to the work produced for the group exhibition, Women of the 20s at Belmacz in London, (5th October - 22nd December 2023), and at the same time function as an independent material entity.
